Automatic camera startup. On page load, SignalLens requests camera and microphone access for browser-local media monitoring. Microphone audio is never analyzed or uploaded. When a valid sid is supplied, the latest complete JSON snapshot is stored for 24 hours and is retrievable by anyone possessing that SID. If the server-authoritative administrator policy enables anomaly-frame retention, only frames matching selected fresh integrity signals, event severity, or artifact thresholds are included as bounded compressed base64 JPEG evidence; frames with no enabled policy match remain image-free. Integrity freshness is relative to browser-reported capture timestamps and is checked for internal consistency, not independently timestamped by the service. Disabling the policy stops new evidence capture and clears retained frames in active tabs, but a prior SID snapshot can remain available until an image-free replacement is confirmed or its 24-hour retention expires. Temporary server-assisted frame analysis remains separately consent-gated. Your browser and operating system privacy indicators remain visible.

Access is protected by the current administrator session; validated settings are stored by the service, cached locally only for display and notification, and trigger authoritative refetches in other open SignalLens tabs on this origin.

Privacy impact: When enabled for a page with a valid SID, matching 192×144 JPEG frames are encoded into the SID result and become retrievable by anyone possessing that SID for the result's 24-hour lifetime. Frames with no enabled policy match remain image-free. Disabling stops new evidence capture and clears active-tab evidence immediately, but a prior SID snapshot can remain available until an image-free replacement is confirmed or its 24-hour retention expires. Hard limits are 20 images, 32 KiB decoded per image, and 400 KiB aggregate base64 data.

Risk is a configurable screening indicator, not proof of identity, deception, manipulation, or unauthorized activity.

When separately enabled, SignalLens sends the first current camera frame immediately, then sends another only after the previous server job is deleted and a minimum five-second gap has elapsed. Jobs never overlap.

Automatic camera startup does not enable uploads. If periodic analysis is explicitly enabled, Stop monitoring releases media tracks and requests deletion of the current server job.
